    1. Add your business name and your TRN in the “Tax / VAT ID” field. It shows as “TRN” on the invoice.
    2. Add your client’s name and address, and their TRN if they are a business.
    3. List the goods or services in Jamaican dollars.
    4. If you are registered for GCT, keep Tax at 15% with the label GCT. If not, set Tax to “No tax”.
    5. Add your bank details in the notes, then download the PDF.

What to include on a Jamaican invoice

    • Your TRN (Taxpayer Registration Number), and your client’s TRN for business sales.
    • GCT at 15%, only if you are registered for GCT with Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ). Show it separately from the price.
    • Your GCT registration details if registered, a unique invoice number, the date, and a description of what you supplied.
    • Payment details: bank and account number, or a payment app handle.

Some goods and services are zero-rated or exempt, and a few sectors use different rates. Check TAJ’s website (jamaicatax.gov.jm) for the rate that applies to you.

    Who must register for GCT

Businesses whose taxable sales go over TAJ’s registration threshold must register for GCT and charge it. Smaller businesses can stay unregistered; they should not add GCT to their invoices. Check TAJ for the current threshold, as it has been raised in recent years.

Jamaica does not currently require businesses to issue invoices through a government e-invoicing system, so a PDF invoice from here can be sent as normal. Use it for quotes, proformas and receipts too.
